Outreach Services

The following services are available from the Meningie Community Health Centre.

  • Nursing Monday - Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm Available to everyone on a needs basis
  • Meals On Wheels 3 course meals are delivered Monday to Friday within the Meningie Township, by a volunteer for a small fee. Frozen meals are available for weekends or people out of town.
  • Home Help A basic home cleaning service is available to assessed clients.
  • Equipment A range of equipment is kept locally and is available for hire. Purchase of equipment can also be arranged.
  • Respite - Community based - Day Care - In Home - available for the HACC client group (aged or those with a disability)
  • Health Promotion A wide variety of health and related information is available at the Meningie Community Health Centre. The Centre regularly conducts health-related programs and health promotion talks can be arranged on request.


A Domiciliary type service fee may apply to some of these services.


Healthy Feet

The Podiatry Service provided to the Murray Mallee area incorporates both a self-assessment and preventative approach to all aspects of footcare. A wide range of services provided includes the conservate management of nail and skin conditions, diabetes assessments and education, biomechanical and paediatric assessments, insole manufacture and orthotic prescription, wound management, minor nail surgery, and the prescription of custom-made footwear.

For Private patients, Mrs M Baan visits the hospital every 4 weeks on a Friday. No referral necessary.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapists are health professionals who are trained to assist people to overcome limitations caused by injury or illness, psychological or emotional difficulties, developmental delay or the effects of aging. Their goal is to assist each individual to move from dependence to independence, maxmising personal productivity, well being and quality of life.

The Meningie Hospital Auxiliary meets monthly to plan fundraising events for much need hospital equipment.

Fundraising efforts include:

  • Cake-less Cake Stall
  • Bagged Promotion Luncheon
  • Catering for clearing sales and private functions
  • Chocolate sales
  • Raffles, including Christmas Stocking
  • 2nd Time Around Clothing Shop - see details below


Funds raisied have been used to purchase:

  • Monitor Defibrillator $18,300
  • Electric beds to value of $15,000
  • Seat for emergency entrance

This shop is run by volunteer member of the Meningie Hospital Auxiliary and all profits go to the Hospital.
